GROUP BUILD: Heroes and Villians

heroes

Hero: A character(s) who prevails in extreme circumstances and dramatises a sense of morality, courage and purpose. Though they may be ambiguous or flawed, they often sacrifice themselves to show humanity at it's best.

Villain: A character(s) whose wickedness of mind, selfishnes of character and will to power are sometimes masked by beauty and nobility while others may rage unmasked. They can be horribly evil or grandiosely funny, but are ultimately tragic.

Hero , Villain, Heroine, Villainess, Goodie, Baddie........

We all love a hero.

Secretly we all love a nasty villain.

That's what this group build is all about, a celebration of all things good and evil

Be it on film, fiction or comic book your favourite heroes and villains are welcome here.

GROUP BUILD: Alternative Armour

As the name suggests this build will be all about Alternative Armour.  So you could have:

  • A steam powered armoured fighting suit or 19th Century steam tank
  • Steam powered tank with Cavorite anti-grav systems
  • Tripod Tank using captured Martian Technology
  • Submersible Troop Carrier to combat Wyndhams 'Kraken Wakes' Monsters
  • For the 40K buffs an Ork Tank using left over Eldar bitz!
  • For the Star Wars builders maybe a Tie Crawler tank or a Nazi T47 Snow speeder
  • Maybe look at modifying an existing WWII kit into a hover tank with death ray war of the worlds style
  • Or try thinking what a Starfleet tank would look like maybe try putting tracks on a Starfleet shuttle

GROUP BUILD: To The Moon

There is no strife, no prejudice, no national conflict in outer space as yet. Its hazards are hostile to us all. Its conquest deserves the best of all mankind, and its opportunity for peaceful cooperation many never come again. But why, some say, the moon? Why choose this as our goal? And they may well ask why climb the highest mountain? Why, 35 years ago, fly the Atlantic? Why does Rice play Texas?

We choose to go to the moon. We choose to go to the moon in this decade and do the other things, not because they are easy, but because they are hard, because that goal will serve to organize and measure the best of our energies and skills, because that challenge is one that we are willing to accept, one we are unwilling to postpone, and one which we intend to win, and the others, too.

GROUP BUILD: Dinomania

The main prerequisite for this group build was that the following kit must have been used as the basis for the build:

  • Tamiya 1/35 Triceratops Eurycephalus Dinosaur (60201)
  • The whole kit didn't have to be used, but it must be recognisable as such by the end of the build.
  • The kit can be used in any way.
  • A build diary must be kept in the same way as the Polar Bear build.
  • The entries will be included in the Year Book.
  • Apart from that, go wild and have fun!

SHOW: Cheshire Militaire 2009

SFM:uk recently had a display and trade table at the South Cheshire Militaire. The club members who attended were Alun, tak5haka, ellenbethsdad, Blitzspear, sciford2, jargonking, Reaper and Maverick.

We won the "Best Club Display" award, which was a fantastic surprise and we would like to say hello and thank you to everyone who stopped by for a chat!
